SCHOOL SHOWS AND RESIDENCIES



Your students will wiggle in their seats to the beat of the drum, sing along with wild abandon and learn about the majestic continent of Africa plus much more with KoumanKe'le's interactive school programs. KoumanKe'le' commands the attention of everyone, from kindergarteners to 12th graders.



  • Recommended group size: 250 for K to 1st Grade, up to 400 for Grades 2-8*
  • Locations: Libraries, School Auditoriums, Gymnasiums and Theaters
  • Tech Needs: Cordless/Corded Mic system, Two armless chairs

*IMPORTANT: There are different programs for different grades. Mixing lower grades with higher grades is not recommended.



NA FURAHA NA MICHEZO



(K-12) Take your students on a culture sharing adventure to Africa through an exhilarating, interactive performance presenting the drum and dance traditions of the continent.



KAZI ZA YETU



(K-5) Which means "our chores", is an upbeat presentation of South African songs, drumming and dancing. This program depicts a typical Saturday for a South African child whose day includes babysitting, cooking, cleaning and most importantly, playing.



MATUNDA YA KWANZAA



(K-8) A children's craft workshop that focuses on the basic history of Kwanzaa, understanding the seven principles, their meanings and practices..



AND THE BEAT GOES ON



(K-8) A participatory performance demonstrating the diversity and team-building properties of percussion instruments from around the world, their origins and musical fun, fun, fun!.
